A special focus is placed on the strategic handling of podcast platforms, which is crucial for success.

Charlotte Theile & Christian Schepsmeier from The Planet Bruno Stefanini

On behalf of the Foundation for Art, Culture and History, we created a 58-minute audio documentary published on 5 August 2024. Titled “Beauty. Mould. Gravity – the Planet Bruno Stefanini”, we explore the life of this collector and property patron born in Winterthur in 1924. Unrestricted access to his unique collection and diaries from 1937 to 2013 fascinated us from the start.

Our research also brought to light less flattering stories about Bruno Stefanini – such as that of the artist Hans-Jörg Limbach, whose sculptures have been neglected in the SKKG cellars for decades. In this talk, we report on the challenges of our research and discuss the big question: Does money make you happy?

Most of the newer films have flopped – except for the latest "Deadpool", which mocks the genre itself. Are our superheroes threatened with extinction? And can we do without them at all?

Film, panel and podcast in three programme blocks: 09:30, 11:00 and 12:30.

YESH! - Film Days and Panel

The 10th Film Days take place this year from 7 to 14 November 2024 and are accompanied by numerous filmmakers. On 10 November 2024, a panel on the topic "Film and Conflict" will be held.

No Jewish film festival can avoid the Middle East conflict this year. 7 October reactivated old traumas, pushed peace far away, normalised antisemitism and made intra-Jewish bridges more difficult. Is it necessary to speak with one voice in the non-Jewish public sphere, or should the reality of Jewish plurality be allowed? Opinions are divided on whether criticism of the Israeli government is more important than ever or should be suppressed.

Which films and content can be shown – and which cannot after 7 October? For its 10th anniversary, Yesh! focuses on Middle East themes, wants to consciously address questions, show controversial films and spark discussions. Various Jewish narratives should find their space, films should be perceived in different readings, in order to celebrate the value of Jewish diversity.

“Die Bibel” is the title of Gion Matthias Cavelty's new book. A revealed text that he wrote down in 24 hours, as if in a frenzy. The work is overwhelmingly funny and packed with theological and mythological allusions. We discuss, among other things, how he became God's mouthpiece in his bed in Schwamendingen. What God sounds like and what He wants from him. In the literary podcast, Esther talks to nationally and internationally renowned authors about their books, themes, creative processes and imaginary worlds.

Esther Schneider (host) is a freelance podcaster, moderator and cultural mediator. She produces the podcast “LiteraturPur” and runs her own literary salon. Previously, she headed the literature department at SRF for eleven years and hosted programmes such as “52 Beste Bücher”.

Gion Mathias Cavelty (guest), born in 1974 in Chur, is a writer and satirist. With “Die Bibel”, he publishes his tenth book (lectorbooks, Zurich). Cavelty lives in Schwamendingen with a Mexican hairless dog.
