Saskia Fröhlich: on self-presentation and social energy
Saskia Fröhlich is a comedian and content creator who performs with shameless honesty and says of herself: “I am introverted.” Saskia Fröhlich lives this apparent contradiction. On social media and on stage, she breaks out of her comfort zone and presents herself with her self-deprecating style and bad-mood humour. But away from the stage and camera, even a simple greeting can overwhelm her.
What does it feel like to live as an introvert in a world of self-presentation and constant availability? Where do introverts and extroverts draw their energy from, and how do relationships between the two poles work?
Sven Preger is Head of Podcasts at NZZ. He talks to Saskia Fröhlich about the moments that drain her social battery, which conversation partners are her biggest final bosses, and why she prefers a show to small talk – and of course about the question: how does she explain the paradox of being introverted while being a comedian?
Following the event, she will sign her new book « Introvertiert, na und? », in which she debunks clichés about introverted people.
The event is recorded and published in the « NZZ Megahertz » podcast.
